my brave brother
My name is Beverly Sue,
I get scared sometimes, just like you.
I have an older brother, his name is Dave.
I want to be like him, ‘cause he is so brave.
He can cross the street all by himself,
Cars don’t scare him he needs no help.
He’s not afraid of heights at all,
He climbs up and jumps of things so tall.
Oh how I wish I wasn’t so small,
My brother Dave’s not scared at all.
My brother Dave needs no night light,
The dark doesn’t scare him he sleeps all night.
Monsters and ghouls run from him in fright,
He scares them off with his laser light.
My brother Dave so brave and true,
I asked him, how can I be like you?
He smiled at me and said,
You’re my sister Beverly Sue,
I get scared sometimes just like you.
So what, I’m brave? You are the same,
You do things although you’re afraid.
Beverly Sue you’re brave too,
And as your brother I admire you.
Both of us brave brother and sister,
I am Dave Sue and you’re my brave little sister.
