Lost Horizons
Lost Horizons
Once, she filled my passion to the greatest
extremities of my soul,
freeing me from grey mocking skies,
erasing the scalding tears from my eyes,
stopping the pain in my heart.
Now, the present fades to blue.
Every moment passes to the past,
where lost horizons rise
from the depth of the stars to meet me,
and tears of desire die silently
in the sunrise of her eyes,
shining in my memory like the sun,
whose orb, through a prism glass, the artist views.
I yearn for all the joy that’s gone
from my lonely, barren dawn.
For again, only grayscale shapes,
midst many shadows, return to haunt my day,
and tears such as gray skies weep
burst forth again,
from eyes that cannot sleep.
