    Looking Back

As I take a look back on my past
I see my life going by so fast
My eyes were blinded by the light
From getting high everyday and night

Everything around me has become numb
Now I am asking myself how i could be so dumb
I was so young with my whole life ahead of me
    Why couldn't I stop Why couldn't I see

Out in the streets trying to be a thug
Trying to chase down my favorite drug
Always running never wanting to sit down
The drugs were calling from all over town

With no job, or money to help me get by
I would do just about anything to get high
From forgery to robbery whatever it took
It didn't take me long to become a crook

Now here I sit in this lonesome hole
Paying the price for something I stole
I never dreamed that doing drugs could lead to this
Now my family and friends i dearly miss

My life today has changed for the good
Ill never again chase drugs in the hood
I suffer each day for a life that went wrong
All I can do now is try to be strong

My body is now cleaned and drug free
I finally see what it is to be me
No more drugs to chase or streets to run
The battle of life I've finally won
