La Luna
We shared ecstasy and tumultuous joy,
Yet shared the pain
Of a million forgotten years.
And as my silenced heart
Recalls the joys,
It's my soul that recalls the tears.
And though I think
That you care not
For my future history,
I ask that when you see the moon
Aglow in somber tones,
That you'll quietly think of me.
For somewhere out there
In that faceless night
Lies a man who loved you so
A small and feeble
Little man
With a heart you once called gold.
And although he's
Been all "used up"
And struggles with each day
He'd give up for you
His very life
Then quietly walk away.
