Graduation
That’s one of my memorable moments
our graduation day; a day-filled with joy
our batch wearing smiles – happiness
our parents joining us with grateful hearts.
Members of the faculty were in attendance
families, friends, relatives and acquaintances
all could be seen as part of our celebration
their presence was indeed a great joy for all.
I could recall my mother who’s there
along with her sister, my aunt Loring
my brother, too, who came to take pictures
I felt so grateful for their love and contribution.
It’s truly a moment of joy for our family members
we celebrated with a simple meal when we got home
they all gave me a hug, a kiss and their congratulations
I was quite moved and emotionally stirred with humor.
When that night came to an end
I was in my bedroom all alone
I tried to sleep and talk no more
I didn’t succeed due to reflection.
It’s a kind of inner satisfaction
With my triumph to reach the end
a baccalaureate degree, my basic journey
a way to move on to further my study.
That’s the key-moment of my happiness
the beginning of my victory, my continuity
with the help of God in my own journey
I’d serve him to the best of my ability.
