Re: The Eastern Darkness, Demons of the Sand Lands(Poets of Blood)I am not sure what to say Alexia, I am humbled by your compliments. I do not see myself in such a manner but still need to thank you. I feel my work is never good enough and always feel the need to break it down and redo. The poetic nature is a gift as well a curse. I flattered you would repost that. I feel I hope one day to aspire to the level you and others on here have attained. |

Re: The Eastern Darkness, Demons of the Sand Lands(Poets of Blood)I could go back and forth with you all day with the common abc elementary type of poetry just to make it rhyme but about your poem serial killers were around long before Hollywood and movie making so to blame them really isn't fair. (I know this was about monsters but using serial killers as an example simplifies it and allows me to get directly to the point without hogwash) as far as someone reading what we write and than acting on it is something we can't control. It goes back to the old adage of if someone tells you to jump off a bridge it doesn't mean you actually do it. A writer has every right to exercise freedom of expression making sure it doesn't get carried out is Dr Phil's job not a writers. Horror writing.movie making etc is for entertainment purposes not to be taken literally but I guess I am from the realm of truth, logic and common sense. |

Re: The Eastern Darkness, Demons of the Sand Lands(Poets of Blood)I absolutely agree with you about our RIGHTS. |

Re: The Eastern Darkness, Demons of the Sand Lands(Poets of Blood)Using morals is a great argument better yet every non native American should just pack up and leave America because ancestors before us took their land and it would be the morally correct thing to do. Anywho lets snap back into reality Morals is along the same line as normal who says what is what who has that power nobody. If you feel that type of writing is morally wrong then don't do it. Personally I could easily chop someone up with my pen on paper write the most grotesque thing ever known to man and not lose any sleep over it. Does that make me a bad person honestly I could care less I have never been one to judge. To each their own if somebody writes something you feel is offensive don't read it again just because you feel something is morally wrong doesn't really make it morally wrong. |

Re: The Eastern Darkness, Demons of the Sand Lands(Poets of Blood)You're right.....and I agree........for you. Last edited by devaamido 12-03-2009 at 12:30:22 PM |
A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.
Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
