Fallen Star
My how things have changed these days,
from the way they used to be.
From always in your loving arms,
to there's never time for me.
I was your hero once.
I was your friend.
Now my heros' cape is tattered,
and the friendships sailed again.
I ate my Wheaties every morning,
and I worked hard at the gym.
I thought it was muscles that you wanted,
but you preferred them sick and slim.
Yea I tried my hand at drinking,
but I wasn't home there at the bar.
While I sat there pining for you,
you're fogging windows in a car.
You used to be my Northern star,
guiding me every night,
down the hallway to our bedroom,
where you'd turn out the lights.
I hear you're still shining these days,
but you're a distant shooting star.
Twinkling somewhere near a street light,
and I still wonder where you are.
