Dreamsing

Dreamsing

The words you could not sing slow enough
Drifted up through the cracks
I heard the voice from another room
And took pleasure in picturing your face
in my mind

The features I did not know
Filled quickly in with imagination
To match the fervent glow
of your peculiar timbre

So I began to wander
Room to room in search of you
But with hesitance I move
Fearing the you I built to be
too much a fictional view

Fear like the dream I wake to find
Has been nothing more than a beautiful lie

I decided to check out a 2nd example of your work to see if the first one I saw was a fluke. It wasn't... Your work is exquisitely real.

Thank you so much. I think that is one of the best complements to get, making writing seem real to others. I usually have a hard time relating the mood to my audience. I am so glad you enjoyed this.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
