DANCING LADIES
DANCING LAD
IES
Oh, I've seen the naked ladies dance, Their womenhood on view; But the beauty of their bodies, Made me dream of you. Oh, I've known many women, As I've traveled through this life. I even thought enough of two, to have each be my wife. Carol had five wears of me, And bore to me a child. A daughter of my fondest dreams,
Free and young and wild. And still when I remember Ruth, I thank her for the time. The three wears that she held me, When my life was out of rhyme. But love based on need must die, And wither on the vine. It left me standing here alone, Alone in space and time. Oh, I've read the girlie magazines, Looked at the pictures too. But the picture that I never found Was the beauty that is you. The beauty of their clotheslessness, Can give passion rise; But there's a hundredfold more beauty, In the smile in your eyes. The dancing ladies smile, And safely flirt with me; Because they know, When their dancing's done, It's in your arms I'll be. So lady, please believe me, The words I speak are true. There's never been a woman born, Could steal my love from you.
