DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL
Swings up to the skyLike a bird I can fly
Adoring eyes
So sad how time flies
Aromas of hard work combined with sweets
Broad shoulders, Monsters and dragons he defeats
Piggybacks carry me into adventures of when he was a lad
There is No one on this earth who can compare to my Dad
Swings up to the sky
Like a bird I can fly
Loving eyes
So sad how time flies
Love cast in the shade, no longer secure, I’m afraid
Loud voices and cries, create breakups serenade
Awaken to no more, the life that once was before
Earth beneath my feet trembles, no longer sure
Swings up to the sky
Like a bird I can fly
Pained eyes
So sad how time flies
Who do you want to live with, me or your dad?
You Mum
Who do you want to live with, me your mum?
You Dad
Swings up to the sky
Like a bird I can fly
Tear-stained eyes
So sad how time flies
Push me, pull me, confused, why can’t you both see
Made to feel guilty as to where I should place my loyalty
I love you both, and it’s breaking my heart
I need you both, yet you tear me apart
Swings up to the sky
Like a bird I can fly
Unsure eyes
So sad how time flies
Time flies between decreased visits at the weekend
Imagined ties and love with distance, slowly weakened
All grown yet l wonder, fear that I don’t bring my Dad pride
Still Daddy’s little girl, living locked up inside
Swings up to the sky
Like a bird I can fly
Grown up eyes
So sad how time flies
