Poem Commentary

A Poem Releated The Conscience And God

Conscience

Considerations

Would that amidst the tale of each life, adventure led without

Lack,

With excitement ever hailing every sleep and waking moment towards

A cause,

And never given sore distress in Faith a’faultering beneath so great

A sack

Of crumbling hopes and dreams, which, if somehow mended, might

Absolve each from his pause.

The trials, though, extend beyond our will of preference

Towards our fate,

And the host of mental terrors seem to taunt, each his nature

Shaken.

But, here, there too is given makings golden for the key to

Heaven’s Gate

As if by fiery trial, fashioned shaped, our destiny some alchemy to

Awaken.

GG, Lest one's conscience be unveiled...you have created wonderful emotive imagery. Fantastic. ginga

Interesting style, Greg. It is always difficult to discover one's purpose in life and all we must go through to get there.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
