Child Abuse
Emptiness, pain, anger, and emotional torment
Of a life growing up with nothing but resentment
One case every 4 hours is shockingly true
What does this statistic mean to you?
How can you stand there and let it pass by?
It’s all around us, it should be common knowledge but we treat it as a lie
Take some action, stir up your compassion and raise your concern,
It’s not just the government who has to move but us who have to learn
Their life includes daily anguish and constant fear
No joy or happiness, their future is unclear
Harmed physically and mentally time after time
This world is like a closed door, we are blinded by this crime
I think the horrendous picture is clear, but certainly not the facts,
We need to break it down so it might stir the masses to act,
The figures are utterly shocking; the truth is unfortunately there to see
We need to do all we can to help those who God loves so much break free
Sixty sex offences were recorded last year in the UK daily
Have you ever heard that before, if so has it made you shudder lately?
Atrocities occur repeatedly such as rape, incest and gross indecency
Its time to do something and not treat this with leniency
One in seven of cases were younger than ten years old
With three out of four cases up to seventeen we’re told
Girls are six times more likely to be involved than boys
With family members four times more likely to treat their young ones as sex toys
These figures however are based on reports to the police
The true extent is that far more children are living a life without peace
Some children are so young they are unable to speak out
It happens quietly inside where no one can hear them shout
I apologise if this has been difficult to take in and accept
But as this becomes more frequent the nation will see a negative effect
Those affected will grow up and use the same approach in order to seduce
For a world currently looks on and fails to see the present state of child abuse
