Changing Love
Changing Love

There are many kinds of love.
The one that is built by two souls
Is special.
It starts at one stage but moves to many others.
The more time invested the more changes.
Which stage is best?
Which is most fulfilling?
At first, the explosion of attraction fills to consume
Each and every fiber of ones being.
It is so wonderful!
So full of energy!
But not always the form taken for longevity.
Which stage is best?
Which is most fulfilling?
The absolute need it brings with it
And creates upon each action
Growth, change and decisions.
Once the daily life merges with another soul
A new stage begins.
Love changes.
Which stage is best?
Which is most fulfilling?
Learning each others many faces,
Actions and motions,
In time, can shadow the energy,
Drowned the illusion of love.
If it holds, and the souls strive for equilibrium
A new stage develops.
Respect and caring for each other
For love must grow
Or pitter out like the fire which started it.
Which stage is best?
Which is most fulfilling?
In time all things dwindle, wrinkle and slow.
Does that mean that the heart does not feel?
Does the soul forget the once urgings of the flame?
Is it possible for a love to be strong?
When the body does not act,
As if love was forgotten.
Which stage is best?
Which is most fulfilling?
While the once vibrant and alluring souls
Whose flame was bright and hot,
Could hold one another in the still of the night,
And remember those times and wish for the same,
But feel the contentment of simple refrain,
I love you my dearest, and wish I could show
The urgings of memories of our love
Long ago.
So which stage is best, one wise old soul ponders, and of them all
Which is most fulfilling when life is all done?
Could say that the fire is the best of them all,
Could say the comfort of age, fulfills ones soul,
Could be that the moment one realizes
The one in their arms,
At the last stage of love
Is the best thing of all
To know that someone
Has Love you at all.
