Poem Commentary

I was sitting here...with four candles. All of them almost out of their "juices" and I was thinking of my current situation...this is the result

Candle

If you were a candle
The last one there
Keeping me away from death
The only source of warmth
I would pick you up
Hold you tight in my hand
and suddenly...
Blow you out.
Throw you on the ground.

This is harsh and emotional using a minimal amount of words. Good write!

Thank you so much :) I'm glad you see my point

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
