As The Raven did for me
I, a mere mortal cannot measure to
Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven”
To capture the horror and gloom
That it fills me with
As The Raven did for me
The melancholy doom
Paranoia of the mind
Superstition of all that is around
As The Raven did for me
Consumed by malignant thoughts
Overcome with despair
A benign state of mind altered
As The Raven did for me
Spooked by the sounds of night
Flooded with dreadful emotion
Frozen to the spot with hope drained
As The Raven did for me
Permanently scarred
To forever reminisce such phantoms coming alive
To consume what is left
As The Raven did for me.
