    Anxiety

In the morning it seems like nothing is there.
Come the night is the panic and all of my fear.
I can see the future for so it seems.
There is too much to process, take me to my dreams.

There is emptiness inside me as the pills kick in.
It's a chemical imbalance that that burns at the skin.
An addiction is the need to dull the pain inside.
I panic for the pills that keep me alive.

There is no Chemical imbalance in this poem, keep taken the pills.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
