A NEW DAY
ALARMS SOUND. IT’S THREE IN THE MORNING.
THEY ARISE FROM THEIR BEDS. A NEW DAY DAWNING.
WITH ONE QUICK MOTION THEY’RE READY TO GO.
THEY DASH OUT THE DOOR. NO FEAR TO SHOW.
WITH HEADS HELD HIGH THEY BEGIN THEIR DAY.
PRIDE IN THEIR HEARTS THEY LEAD THE WAY.
THROUGH CROWDS OF HATE THEY PUSH AHEAD.
ANOTHER ENEMY LIES COLD AND DEAD.
THEY WEEP FOR THE LIVES THEY HAVE TO TAKE.
THEY FEAR FOR THEIR LIVES WHEN THEY’RE AWAKE.
THEY LIVE IN A NIGHTMARE, BUT FOR US THEY STAY STRONG.
IN THE HEARTS OF THEIR FAMILIES IS WHERE THEY BELONG.
A SOUND IN THE NIGHT. A BLAST OF LIGHT.
LAWS OF WAR. WHO KNOWS WHAT’S RIGHT.
A NIGHT SO COLD. A HUMAN SO BOLD.
A MAN WISHES FOR HIS WIFE TO HOLD.
A WOMAN CRIES IN EXTREME PAIN.
A GUARD SLEEPS IN THE FREEZING RAIN.
ALL ARE SUFFERING FROM LOSS OF SLEEP.
ALL FEEL PAIN IN THEIR HEART SO DEEP.
ALARMS SOUND IT’S THREE IN THE MORNING.
THEY ARISE FROM THEIR BEDS FOR A NEW DAY DAWNING.
