When That Girl Was Me
When I look at the two of you standing there that way
Lost in the moment and each other’s gaze
I can’t help but think of how things used to be
And how the only one you held in your arms was me
You would hold me in you arms and you’d sweep me off my feet
But when it really came down to it, you chose her over me
It’s okay, I’m over it, and I’m glad that you are happy
But I can’t help having memories of when that girl was me
Since someone’s heart had to break, I’m glad that it was mine
Cause I’d never want you to feel that pain, No mater what the crime
You better treat her right, as if she were a queen
And try your best not to break her heart, like you did to me
But it’s okay, I’m over it, and I’m glad that you are happy
But I can’t help having memories of when that girl was me
Lost in the moment and each other’s gaze
