    this little ishkabibel

written by myself and my daughter for her 5th grade class and won 1st place.......

once ther was an ishkabibel named icabod
he lived in a little town called peas in a pod
he ws quite short which was good for him
he wore purple shoes, a little black hat
and one single hair on his chin
his little house was just six inches tall
his furniture no bigger than your thumb
    even his mailbox was small
he liked to sing and talk alot
but no one was ever around
all by himself he discovered a pond
there on a rock a little froggie he found
icabod took the frog home and made him his pet
he wished an a clover that his frog could speak
but the frog got all wet
the magic didnt happen, his pet turned to stone
icabod said, "once again, im all alone"

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
