    the voice of darkness

With voices screeching in my head

they wake me from my sleep in bed

trying to show me all the dread

I must fight them off instead

    they blindly seep

    through last night's sleep

    wanting my soul to keep

    they treat as a creep

    can you hear them whisper

    their lies are broad

some think of them as fraud

but they are only a whisper

    no dread will they show

    how will I know

    they come and they go

    I just don't know

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
