The Visit
The Visit
As I awaken, vision slowly clearing,
I find myself peering out over a vast body of water...
In the distance I notice an image approaching...
Nearer and ever nearer...the image is of a young woman...
she has a veil of muted colors and dressed in a flowing gown...
In her hands is a bouquet of flowers, and hovering lightly
above the blossoms, a beautiful Butterfly.
When she reaches the edge of the sands, she steps gently towards
me,
through the veil I can detect a faint smile, one the invites my
responding in kind...
as her Lips part I hear her call me by name...
She motions for me to sit by her in the sands, and proceeded to
tell me of her Travels...
She described the very places I have visited in my dreams, she
told me of heights which looked out of Valleys of wild flowers,
and of depths where echoes muted in fear...
Then she touched me, soft, tender, and I felt my heart race...She
lowered her veil, leaned to me and Kissed me, as no lips have
ever touched mine before...
When I opened my eyes, she was Gone...and in my lap rested a
single flower and a note...
"Love has not forgotten you, nor has Love Abandoned you...I will
always be near"
as I pondered these events...
I was jolted to alertness by my alarm clock...
had this too been only a dream?
I looked over and saw on the pillow next me that same flower,
and the note...
Seems, Love had Come and Gone in but an Instant cloaked as a
Dream...
