    Poem Commentary

    Sometimes profound wisdom comes at the most unexpected times. A friend asked me to go shoe shopping with her the other day; we arrive at the mall and she's excited there's a big sale. An attractive saleman approaches her; Hello, "May I be of assistance". She goes on and on for about 10 minutes, discribing the types of shoes she looking for: the different styles, the colors, the size, the materials, the height of the heels, the brands of designers, when and what she going to wear them for and provides a price range. After shopping we went to brunch; the topic of finding a mate came up in conversation; she said, "I really like to find the right guy, the perfect fit". I asked her what's she looking for in a guy? She replied, "I'm not sure, I don't know". Hence this bit of humor is dedicated to my sweet friend; hoping that she'll spend as much time thinking about what she wants in a mate as she does shoes.

    Selecting a lover-partner...
     
    like buying a pair of shoes 
     
    when we're young
     
    we go for stylish
     
    when we're mature
     
    we go for comfort
     
    at any age, or stage
     
    it's always best
     
    not to shop in the bargain basement
     
    it leaves too many callused - Hearts.
     
    Afterall when your feet hurt, everything hurts!

    Knight - you always make me smile:) Leave it to you to come up with a good pun, just when everyone throught the best were taken...Ha Ha....LOL, how fitting of a wonderful poet like the Knight;remember once a King always a King, but once a Knight is not enough...LOL:)

    twaynecking - Quick yes indeed, I write off the top of my head; I suppose I'm an unintended poet! Ty, even my best is light years away from anything that would be considered poetry; I mostly enjoy reading poetry. Those closest to me would say, "Janice you're a social poet"...LOL. Bravo my friend, stick with the shoes you've got through thick and thin; they bend and move with you each and every step of the way; God smiles as you journey on together paving the way...see his footprints; I know you do, and so does a man who is forced to walk without shoes.
