    THE LORD CALLED AND THEN I CAME


    It seems like just a while ago

    That I walked life’s twisting lanes.

    Where I played “Man's” game of chance

    With its losses and its gains

    I knew earthly gains didn’t last forever

    I would wait to hear my name

     

    “Come home now,” He ordered

    “I always here you praise my name

    You never stopped your worship

    Through all that terrible pain

    I want you close to be now

    It’s finally time you came.”



    It was the end of earthly sorrows

    The end of earthly pain

    The Lord I love ends suffering

    So sing no sad refrains

    You are all so special to me

    But I heard him call my name.

    POWERFUL indeed....i love this poem...we are soldiers for God, and when He calls us we dont always follow him, but i love ur story in this....This is beautifly written from the truth of ur experience to the truth that we all feel at one time when the Lord finally calls us

    This is spiritually catchy for this poem is full of wit and insight...Earth always recycle it self...our soul and spirituality does not...Spirituality is indeed very important

    Thank you for your comments. this was a person who struggled with their own spirituality and in the end their commitment to their belief was so apparent.

    This is how it is, I believe for the Christian. We feel him calling us when we near the end. He said he would make a way of escape when things became more than we could bear. ...You are just a lovely poet...and person.

    For he already paid the price, he is well known as Jesus Christ, his mercy and love will never leave, the only thing to do, is just believe!. :)) Amazingly written. BEAUTIFUL!

    Well this one was about death but you made me look at it in a new light. Unlikr you the lord called me often and I turned a deaf ear until he banged me over the head and guess what? You can never go back but it took me many false starts to get here.

    To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
