The Hideaway
The Hideaway
There is a place of quiet solitude,
Where my mind often goes.
It’s become a needed sanctuary,
God’s the only one who knows.
A collage of my back country travels,
From places I have been and seen.
It’s nestled in a lush green valley.
Through it runs a trout filled stream.
There are mountains which protect it,
Encircled also by virgin pines,
The awe inspiring beauty here,
Is beyond just mere sublime.
Everywhere you turn is wild life,
And each knows I pose no threat.
A redtail rests upon my shoulder,
She expects her daily pet.
I encompass it all as I quietly sit,
Absorbing the balance and harmony.
So sweet are the mountain songbirds,
As they unite in a pefect melody.
One certain day as I transcended there.
I became aware of a change in scene.
Mountain flowers grew everywhere here,
A beautiful woman sat by my stream
She stood up and then faced me,
Her loveliness, graced my haven.
She whispered to me, as she took my hand,Saying “
I have heard your hearts true craving
I've waited patiently in the shadows.
I have been a part of all your dreams.
Now I will be your mountains,
and your trout filled streams.
There is a place of quiet solitude,
Where my mind often goes.
