    the day i lost you

The day that I lost you I was only six years old. My brother was three years old. I really did not understand what was going on. Then I knew that you were gone and you was never coming back. That you went home with
God. To be one of his angles, to watch over us. I know that you are watching over us. I know that you will always be watching us.
On that day when I saw them take you out in the body bag, I did not know what to do. I just stood there and tried not to think about what just happened.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
