The Apathetic Student
The Apathetic Student
This is a poem written for the apathetic student,
who, if he would have done his work like he was supposed to,
would not have this written about him.
His teachers and friends, acquaintances and parents,
told him that if he didn't do his work,
he was going to fail, and that was quite apparent.
But he would rather be watching television,
than reading literature that,
many of the unintelligent had forgotten.
He did what he could to barely get by,
those who knew his potential,
were constantly asking him, why?
Why don't you do what we know that you can?
But that student did not listen,
and I'm sorry to say,
that the poor apathetic student
is not here with us today.
Why? You may ask, so I will tell you the tale.
That poor student did fail
His parents were so upset that they sent him away.
They sent him to find Lilliput
and that is what he is doing till this day,
Because he didn't pay attention in his British Literature class
He is now lost forever, while eternity does pass.
So take my advice
and be very nice,
To your English instructor,
read what she assigns,
write papers that are long,
and you won't end up like that poor apathetic student,
to whom we say au revoir.
