Stay With Me

Stay With Me

If I could put into words,
The things I need to say,
Then the world would make sense,
And you would never go away.
I miss you more now,
Then I ever have before,
Just hear me out please,
Before you walk out the door,
My heart isn't whole,
Without you by my side,
Nightmares raid my dreams,
And the tears I can't hide,
My heart holds fears,
That no one understands,
I'm a zombie during the day,
Just following someone's commands,
You can bring the life,
The light that I seek,
You can make me strong again,
Even though I am weak,
Come please take my hand,
And show me the way,
And I promise to stand beside you,
No matter come what may.

Beautifully written! Very easy to put yourself in the poem because of how well it flows. Very well done, kudos!

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
