smiles

Have you ever thought about the things, that make a person smile?
The laughter of a happy friend, The magic in a child.

The wonder of a new born love, the birth of a new life,
the trust i see in my child's face, the love in the face of my wife.

Have you ever thought about the things, that make a person frown?
the wailing of a broken friend. The skeptic in a child.

the pain felt in a new lost love, the death of a lost life,
the hurt i see in my child's face, the fear in the face of my wife.

I have thought about the things that make a person feel,
happy, or sad, good or bad , because for me it is real.

i have smiled at the laughter of friends, and have also mixed our tears,
and at times i find it hard to sooth my family's fears

But its my choice, to ponder more ,on things that make me smile
so that my child's memories, will pass on quite a while!

This is wonderful. Your way with words and emotions make this a very enjoyable read.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
