    Skeleton

    Skeleton bones.

    Mommy, Mommy help me.

    He is wasting away.

He is nothing more than bones.

Melting away is what he is doing.

I see nothing left in him.

Not a fight no reason to live.

    Drinking away his sorrows.

Its hurting him more than he knows.

    He's just a skeleton.

    He don't want to live.

I sit here day after day and watch him slowly slip away.

Farther and Farther out of my reach.

What can I do other than try and stop him.

He don't hear what I'm saying.

I am no one to tell him what to do.

He is all that I have left.

I wish you could see just how much you mean to me.

But what can I do ?

Sit here and watch him waste away.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
