Silent Night

    Poem Commentary

Do you prefer a rough passage to the above?

    Silent Night

Let the evening of my demise

Be a ghastly moment to those curious

In the evening of my departure

When my heart can’t hold it anymore

And I hope to die for a principle

Or the better that I have lived of it

For I shall die before my time

Because I feel the shadow’s depth

    I have accomplished my deed

    And have come to grin

    With the possibility of dropping

The last tear from my eyes

    No doubts on the positive

    Minds I left behind

    I hope to rest in

    A peaceful passage

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
