    Shadows on the beach

Two shadows, side by side, cast along the white warm beach
One is short, the other is great
The tall huge one covers the small one …short…
    When the sun is harsh
The two shadows suddenly dissolve into one …

Sunlight dances up above the two identical heads
    One is black
But the other …has turned grey

Along the dazzle endless white sand beach
Steps after steps, appear two footprints
One is big, followed by the other -one-third in size …
As the tiny, under violent waves, get lost
Silently four steps simply become two …

Light flickers on the two same faces…almost
    But one fills with youth
    The other has…grown old

Sound of wave echoes along the long white beach
But somehow it can not dissolve the sound of laughter
Tears are shed, blend in the ocean deep
But sea or tears which one would be saltier?
    ……..

He’s always there side by side to support each child of his
On the long white unpredictable beach of life
But through relative proper time of his
One inescapable day, the other shadow has to be left on its own.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
