    Shades

Shades of brilliant colours paint the tapestry of my life in each and every facet, my kids and darling wife. Leaping from their mothers' bossom so anxious to taste life; we gasp upon their every move as if it were our own. We love them so through glamour, grief and failure too; awaiting simple hugs and smiles, their accomplishments are our just reward. Green is the grass stains they bring from playing ball, with scratches scars and well earned "bo-bos" they've enjoyed their moments in the sun. Fade to grey the day comes to a close with ambers in shades of red and yellows. Our hearts welcome hem home to stay, that brief moment in the sun before they move on. They are children for that shade in time between now and certainly then. Love them now and never forget, they're only little once.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
