    reminder

the rain will forever remind me of you

overcast skies and thunderstorms in june

the rhythm of raindrops not a cacophony for this cocoon

we delicately spun inside this tiny room

early mornings wrapped in love’s embrace

reluctant to depart from this darkened place

I LOVE A SUNNY DAY but

It will always be the rain that turns my thoughts to you

shapeless orbs collecting to obscure my view

the rain’s downward descent momentarily altered

serve as a reminder of love lost and left to falter

    free falling forms of h2o

able to renew and cleanse my soul

these tiny droplets drip through space

to leave a dampened path down my face

warm and salty…sort of like my tears

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
