Reflection
Reflected though watery eyes…
This world is so completely different.
The happy green trees of spring, muted
to emotionless grays and browns.
The people we had once seen so clearly,
Now blurred shadows in a misty haze.
What once made us laugh and smile
No longer reaches us,
No longer warms our lifeless limbs.
The pain and anger now numbed away.
Life reflected through watery eyes is so much safer,
So much less painful.
No life lost.
But no life found.
No longer can I see my enemies.
My friends, vague shadows in the dark
This is life...
Reflected through watery eyes
This world is so completely different.
The happy green trees of spring, muted
to emotionless grays and browns.
The people we had once seen so clearly,
Now blurred shadows in a misty haze.
What once made us laugh and smile
No longer reaches us,
No longer warms our lifeless limbs.
The pain and anger now numbed away.
Life reflected through watery eyes is so much safer,
So much less painful.
No life lost.
But no life found.
No longer can I see my enemies.
My friends, vague shadows in the dark
This is life...
Reflected through watery eyes
