    Question

As we sit here I turn away afrade,
That you are about to see the tears
That are forming in my eyes
    You ask if anythings wrong
I smile and tell you that i am fine
The truth is if i went for your hand
    Would you hold mine?
If I went for your lips,
    Would you kiss me?
If I went for you heart,
    Would you love me too?

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
