I have writing poetry since I was a little girl............ my favorite kind to write are children poems...the poem I submitted for the contest, My Soldier, was written when my oldest son became a marine and was off to war.... I have submitted several poems to a few publishers (8 years ago now), but was discouraged when returned...I was quite elated and hopeful though as they indicated that they were "well written and they enjoyed them very much, but it was not what they were looking for at the time." I was encouraged...but my life got busier and I just haven't had time to sit and do what I love!
