Peace At Last
Peace At Last
What does dysfunctional mean to a child?
Trapped in a home where the adults are running wild.
Where daddies act like monsters, mommies seem so
weak, and children quickly learn to watch how they should speak.
Where trust and love are traded for suspicion and hate.
For alcohol and anger keep her up at night so late.
A long fancy word has nothing to give to a scared little child,
to help her to live.
Peace and Joy are missing crushed beneath the weight of
other peoples problems with themselves and their mate.
No one is there to teach her uncondtional love, or that she
has great value to someone up above.
When anger, rage, and shouting are the general rule,
and her safe peaceful place is when she's at school.
The violence and confusion left deep lasting scars
creating a veritable prision;
Holding her heart behing bars.
It feels so good to be mad at the people who use to hurt you.
Forgiveness is so hard to grasp, even though its a powerful vision.
What does dysfunctional mean to a child when she's all
grown up and her own life has gone wild?
When seeds of rejection sown in the past are now bearing fruit,
and she sees them at last.
Unforgiveness, intolerance, anger, lies,
lust, selfishness, greed and mistrust.
What does dysfunctional mean to a child who's
life is out of control she feels so defiled?
When all of the tools that she had been using to make her feel better,
she now was abusing.
At the end of the road
alone with herself. She
couldn't be lower, she
had to look up over
her fears and doubts.
In the silence of her gloom, she thought
she heard a sound. A voice, a lovely voice,
that said "Now Look Who I Found"
No defenses left, her hoped crushed into dust.
She was finally ready to turn to HIM in trust.
She prayed so hard that day as she
hadn't done in years. She opened her heart
to Jesus and welcomed HIM with tears.
What does dysfunctional mean to a child who's recieved
Christ as Savior and is no longer railed?
A far distant memory.
A time in the past.
A place to move on
to escape from at last.
Now she's part of God's family.
Adopted and sealed.
A child loved and accepted
in whom God's light revealed
