    Poem Commentary

Music is my life. I love to dance and have been doing it for a long time. While writing poetry is new to me, dancing is not. So I thought I write about something I know.

One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight

One, Two , Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight

Is my cue to start my life

As my feet glide across the floor

     In time with the music

    I am taken away

As I swim with the fishes

    Fly above the clouds

    Explore the forest

    Climb the mountains

    Dancing transports you anywhere

Go to that special place where your peace

If I could only spend my life on the dance floor

Spelling out my emotions with movement instead of words

But sadly I must walk the streets of this earth, hesitant

    To take that next step

But when I am on that stage

I am finally able to live

    No worry, disappointment, debate

Just the crumping, salsa, jazz, or tango

So come and dance with me, feel my serenity

    As I call

One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight

Very good piece my friend. I feel your love and passion in everything you write. You're poems are so innocent yet and insightful. I, too, love music. I was a DJ at one time. Worked on a radio station. I love all kinds of music and art. I really appreciate your honesty. You really write well....Don't ever stop. Thanks so much for sharing... Kevin

Yes life is a play. This poem brings back childhood memories as you say the cue to start my life. Perform till you drop then savor all you have done.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
