No Longer

You know what I dont understrand?
Why would someone do this to me?
Hug me, squeeze me, hold my hand.
After all that affection what did you think I'd believe?
That you were just a friend
Walking in a neutral direction?
I guess you just havent reached the end
It comes right after the best friend section
Of your heart, and its equivalent
Is so much greater than you could ever anticipate
But I guess you were never meant
To see a passion greater than hate
A sadness greater than depression
And a joy greater than ecstasy.
For it seems you have been living in oppression
Of this emotion so you cant see
What a difference it would make in your life
In your appearance, in your character
But no, instead you choose to continue this strife
Between your plagued heart and love forever after
Well dont let me be a part of it any longer
I see you for what you are now and thats a monster
But I have created an immunity and Ihave grown stronger
Than anything you throw at me: I love you no longer.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
