    Neverending Corridor!

I am running down this corridor that never seems to end.
    Please tell me when...
When will I be able to rest?
I am on a neverending quest.
Please let me be you did this to me...
Don't expect me to call on you to be my hero,
    When you're just a zero.
I am waiting for my knight in shinning armor to take me home.
I am left here to roam..
    My future unknown.
I run down this corridor, numb.
Waiting for my prince to come.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
