My Sister Allie Mae Slonaker
AGGIE MAE
SHE LEFT THIS EARTH
ON MAY 30 2008
SHE CRADLED HER SON
AS SHE ENTERED HEAVENS GATE
SHE WAS MY BEST FRIEND
A SISTER A DAUGHTER A WIFE
A MOTHER AN AUNT
A CREATOR OF LIFE
WE SHARED SO MANY SECRETS
WONDERED WHAT OUR FUTURES WOULD HOLD
TALKED ABOUT OUR CHILDREN
AND WHAT OUR HUSBANDS WOULD LOOK LIKE OLD
WE LAUGHED ABOUT OUR CHILDHOOD
ABOUT THE FOOLISH THINGS WE'D DONE
HOW COOKING WITH OUR MOTHER
WAS ALWAYS SO MUCH FUN
WE ARGUED OVER WHO WAS DADDYS LITTLE GIRL
REMEMBERED THE FIRST TIME WE GAVE MOTHERHOOD A WHIRL
I KNOW GOD HAD A REASON
AND I SHOULD NOT QUESTION WHY
THERE'S NOTHING LEFT TO DO
THOUGH WE WILL NOT SAY GOODBYE
FOR I'LL SEE HER SMILING FACE
AS I ENTER HEAVENS GATE
THE SAME WAY MY SISTER HAD
ON MAY 30 2008
ALL MY LOVE YOUR SISTER LINDA
SHE LEFT THIS EARTH
ON MAY 30 2008
SHE CRADLED HER SON
AS SHE ENTERED HEAVENS GATE
SHE WAS MY BEST FRIEND
A SISTER A DAUGHTER A WIFE
