    My Beloved

My Beloved where are you now?
    I wait, I yearn - patiently.
I wonder will I ever see you?
How can this be? I'm only 43!
    I am a beautiful woman without a Soul...mate...
I yearn for you night after night
He grows weary of my plea.
    I wait expectantly.
Even the Heavens can't bring you back to me!
    So I cry
    I lay in my bed
    Alone, sad- but not afraid
For I am a woman, now
    Forced into independence by circumstance.
Dear Lord, how many more times do I have to say, "That's so very nice, I am so happy for you."
So again, I cry I ask i plea...
"What's wrong with me, Lord? What's wrong with me?"
Why do I have to be alone
Solo- for what? 43 years, Lord?
Quiet, despair- desperation but not desperate.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
