Moving Backwards
Why am I moving backwards?
It's like I fear success.
From job to job, check to check,
my hair is gray because I am stressed.
Why am I moving backwards?
Afraid to turn around.
In the mirror looking back at me,
the reflection of a smiling clown.
Fool! You are, I tell myself.
But yet it hasn't changed.
Moved out of state to fix my life.
But it all was rearranged.
The vision I have for the future,
unfortunately is a blur.
Stop the daydreaming of a big old house,
and make that dream occur.
Why am I moving backwards?
Girl, finish what you start.
Your education means nothing,
if you keep it in your heart.
Take a breath and hold it,
until you have achieved.
Fuck the moving backwards.
It's about time that I succeed.
4/11/05 - 7 something am or pm (the paper is old and torn).
