    Merciful Death

With tears of joy I welcome thee
    Oh, Merciful Death, cover me!
Hold me in thy darkest embrace,
Clasp me tightly against thy breast,
Death, take me to my final rest,
Let light shine not upon my face!
I have been long awaiting thee,
    In torment for your touch.
Each day with dread I wake to see
    That life deceives me much-
    Lies! Behind every truth!
    Truth itself, tongue-in-cheek!
Deny me not, Oh Sweet Death,
    this oblivion I seek!

OK you have a fleicitous touch, but today, I have chosen life. And if you are reading this, so have you. Why? Because even a deceptive life is better than true oblivion. No?

Perhaps. I would say that it depends on the life one leads as well as the belief in an afterlife. I have lived in suffering and intense pain for more than twelve years. Is it so wrong to wish for such suffering to end?

    wow! gripping. great job

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
