    Poem Commentary

This was written in regard to the many complexities of relationships between men and women who believe they are in love.

What is love really?  Who dictates what love is?  Does love hurt?  Is love deceit and trickery?

Is it smooth lines and hot sex?  It is truly up to the individual to interpret for themselves...what love truly is.

    Love (Question):

WHO KNOWS WHAT LOVE IS TRULY SUPPOSED TO BE?

    NOT I.

WE LIVE OUR LIVES YEARNING TO LOVE AND BE LOVED.

WE FIND THAT SPECIAL ONE, IT IS HEAVENLY BLISS.

YET THE BLISS LAST ONLY FOR A SHORT SEASON.

DECEIT.  DECEIT SETTLES IN.  DISTRUST.  DISTRUST RAGES!

WHO KNOWS WHAT LOVE IS TRULY SUPPOSED TO BE?

IS IT A TIDAL WAVE OR IS IT THE CALM RIPPLE OF THE WATERS?

         WHO KNOWS?

    NOT I.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
