    Love in Heart

    If yet my heart cannot sleep at night
    For it is in love with its angel lady.
    At night restless like a solder ready to fight,
    Sometimes acting to propose, as if ready

    A token of kiss is needed that the heart may live,
    That my heart will easily sleep and take rest;
    Send me some honey to sweet my hive
    That in my passion I will hope in you the best

    I am greatly in love, deeply in her,
    For I always die without seeing in a day,
    That my love becomes severe but not mere
    To show that I will love you every day

    Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
