    Look At Me

    Look at me
    What do you see?
    Do you see anything?
Are you afraid to look beyond the surface of me?

    Look at me
Do you see the lines etched into my face?
Years of struggle and fear, sadness and quiet
    desperation.

    Look at me
Can you not see I need you to be the strong one for awhile,
    That I am tired,
That I have had to be the strong one for too long now.

    LOOK AT ME
    I'm almost gone...

this is a poem about how you feel about yourself. very deep. we get better as we gain experience and the lines are not a bad thing, that's character.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
