    Indigo Light

…it began in the dark blue incidences of my subconscious

Imaginings responding to the hue of love’s creation

A perfect light attached itself to me like evening stars slowly absorbing into midnight

No longer did I run the selfish course of youth

In an instant of revelation, I began to walk in shades of light blue surrender

Willing to open myself up and be filled with the completeness of life

I sang purple chimes of rejoice and my heart wept silver-lined dreams come true

Time and breath mingled in the excitement of reality and my spirit gazed with new eyes

On violet-blue remembrances of that precious moment that my child was conceived…

    (and I give thanks)!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
