They thought we were in Love
They thought we were in love
Maybe it's the way we smiled at one another
The way the sun would hit your eyes and turn them lighter;
brightening your stature, creating an undeniable glow
Maybe it was the hearty laughs we shared in secret
and whisper them again in the dark
Perhaps it was the way you cast away shadows
with the brightness of your character
Perhaps it was the way my heart nearly jumped out of me
every time I heard your name; your voice like velvet
It's possible that it was the time we spent away
talking about all the things that mattered most in this life
talking about the next, awaiting plans for our near future
Yes, they thought we were in love seeing that all the beauty this world pertains was reflected in our souls, in our walk, in our gazes
Nowhere near perfection but still made to belong together
What in the world would make them think that?
