I wish I could have known you.
I wish I had known you.
Never could I know,
they told me,
you were cold.
They told me,
you were mean.
They told me,
you'd hurt me.
The man,
I thought, so fearful.
The man,
I was told hated me.
The man,
I lived with,
but only knew,
after death.
I wish,
I could have known you.
I see you,
from time to time,
in my son.
I see the truth,
you cared,
you loved
you made me who I am.
I wish you,
could have known me.
Never could I know,
they told me,
you were cold.
They told me,
you were mean.
They told me,
you'd hurt me.
The man,
I thought, so fearful.
The man,
I was told hated me.
The man,
I lived with,
but only knew,
after death.
I wish,
I could have known you.
I see you,
from time to time,
in my son.
I see the truth,
you cared,
you loved
you made me who I am.
I wish you,
could have known me.
